A youth in a Jharkhand village allegedly killed his uncle and ate his flesh to gain supernatural powers.
Mangra Minz, a resident of Urkiya village of West Singhbhum district, shot his uncle with an arrow and later attacked him with an axe, local media reports said Wednesday. West Singhbhum is 230 km from state capital Ranchi.
He then cut the victim’s body into parts and ate them as occult practitioners had suggested that Mangra kill a close relative to get supernatural powers. Mangra allegedly killed his uncle while he was working a jungle. He was arrested Tuesday after family members informed the police.
Killing a person to get magical or supernatural powers is not new in Jharkhand and such incidents are regularly reported, especially among tribal communities.
