There was a time I was coming back from work about 3.00 am in the morning, when I heard a loud noise coming from behind me. When I turned behind there was nothing. I thought, I was just too tired and it was just my imagination. So I ignored it and listen to my walkman.
When I was on the way back home, I felt a gush of wind passing through my body. So, I walk as fast as I could. Luckily I reached under my block. I thought thats the end of it but when I was walking up the stairs I felt somebody was behind following me. I quickly ran up, open my house door and quickly went in with a terrifying look on my face. My mother was awake when I came back home. She noticed my paled-looking face,”What’s wrong with you? You look like you’ve just seen a ghost!.” I could not said a word and just went inside my room.
I wanted to take a bath but I was scared that the thing will appear in front of me. So, I changed my mind. I went to bed straight away with my uniform on. I could not sleep well that night. I was thinking, what was that actually? Is it a ghost or a stranger? When I was thinking about it, I turned and faced the window. Suddenly, I saw a black figure passed through my window. I quickly cover myself with a blanket and went to sleep.
The next morning my mother woke me up. She touched me and said,”Why is your body so hot?” I said,”Maybe I’m sick.” She asked if I want to see doctor. But I don’t want. From that moment I begin to reacted differently at home. My mother noticed my change of reaction. She was afraid something was wrong with me. So, she called my uncle that night.
My uncle came and looked at me. He asked me what happened last night. So, I told him everything. He said, the thing that followed me home was a black man which what is known as the “Orang Minyak”. This thing like to go after ladies. I was afraid about what my uncle told me. My mother asked,”What are we going to do? My uncle said not to worry about this. He will handle this problem. My uncle gave me a talismen so as to keep me away from ghost or wondering spirits. He asked me to pin the talisment at my t-shirt. If I want to go to the toilet, I have to take it off. When come out from the toilet, I have to pin it back. After that incident, nothing happened to me. I changed my work shift to morning till afternoon.
That was my first and scariest encounter with ghost ever……
