This is a preview of a project HungZai.com is partnering with Mythopolis which I’m really excited about.

Sometime back, I had promised readers here, one of my aim of this site is to hold contest frequently to give out freebies. Well as luck would have it, I finally found our first sponsor to kickstart the contest journey on HungZai.com.

Mythopolis is an American film production company who had an interest in spooky films since 2001. Tony Kern the director at Mythopolis had done a few horror films in America and was few years ago, doing horror research in Asia, one thing led to another, he found difficulty in locating information pertaining to the Hungry Ghosts Festival. So on a mission he embarked, along with Genevieve Woo, who is a famous news anchor in Singapore, they produced a film that elaborates the Hungry Ghost Festival, ‘A Month Of Hungry Ghosts’.

The first contest to be held on HungZai.com is a story telling contest. The story is not exactly to be submitted to HungZai.com but to be posted on the contestant’s blog. Entries will be judged according to contents(50%) and referrals to the film’s website(50%). The prizes are 40 tickets for 13 winners to Press Screening for ‘A Month Of Hungry Ghosts’ on the 31st July 2008.

So that’s what HungZai.com will be working on for the next few weeks while the entries start coming in. We’re looking for all type of stories pertaining to the Hungry Ghost Festival. If you have heard of a really good story, send them in, any kind of stories are welcomed.

On a personal note, I’m delighted as much as excited to play a part in helping to promote a local horror film. As much as I think this contest will benefit HungZai.com and Mythopolis Pictures, the real winner has got to be the readers because they get to read more Hungry Ghosts Festival’s stories, get to know more about a film through HungZai.com, they also get a chance to win free tickets to preview screening. One thing is for sure, we will be looking for more sponsorships for more contest in the future and our aim is to have enough sponsored prizes for a contest each month.
