Last year 2007, my friends and I had a overnight barbecue at East Coast. We booked a pit near the shore. We reached there at about 10 in the morning. We were having fun all day long. Some of my friends were playing cards, listening to radio and some like me renting bikes.
At about 8pm, we started to have the fire started and begin preparing the food. A few of my friends rented bikes for overnight.
Ok then until 12.30am which was after midnight! There came the worst part of the day.
One of my friend, Manshor saw something in white jumping tree to tree. As he told us, we ignored him. But when my two friend and me went cycling, I saw a man in yellow clothing sitting on a bench. We were cycling towards the bedok jetty and coming back. As we were coming back, we had a challenge between us as who ever comes the last one will be called as a loser. I’m a kind of person who don’t like to be called as a loser. I was riding mountain bike while they were in GT’s.
Suddenly, my bike chain when off the gear as I was changing the gear. They didn’t wait for me as I called them. Again, I saw the same man in yellow walking in front of me. I repaired my bike and I was puzzled because I didn’t had any idea of going back to pit. So with fear in my heart at the lonely track, I had no choice but to ask the man for help. I when towards him and asked him the way to go to pit 35 which was where they are. The man in his hard voice told me ” Just go straight and don’t turn back”. I never intent to see his face or either his foot because I shut my eyes like a dam. I then pushed my bike about 3 steps to the front and turned back to thank him. But to my fear of all, the man disappeared into thin air. Well as what other’s do, I cycled as fast as possible to my pit and told them what happened. But no one intent to listen to me, hope u readers will.
