It was in the mid 80’s if I’m not mistaken. I was working at the changi cargo complex with a cargo agents as cargo assistant. I was working overtime on that day. I went back at around 11 p.m.
As usual I went back using the same route that I came to work. It was the coastal road. A long stretched road towards to the e.c.p and tampines. From that road you can see changi hanger, cias cargo terminal and the runaway for aircraft to depart and arrived.
As i was riding along, there came a 400cc sportbike who overtake me from my right. It was going about 80 to 90km/h. I was a bit shock at that time. Not long, i heard a loud crashed up ahead. I talked to myself that it must be that bike just now. There was a pillion together with him. To my great shock its true. It was the bike just now. I stopped my scooter and try to help. The rider was in the drain while the pillion was on the road lying motionless. A blue truck came after a minute. He called for an ambulance with his mobile phone.
While waiting for the ambulance to come, both of us try to help the pillion, who was a lady that was lying on the road. The driver take the head and I take the leg. As we were carrying her, there was a thing that fell from her long dress. “OH MY GOD!!!!!OH MY GOD!!!!!”I CRIED. I tried to looked carefully what was that thing. To my surprised it was a baby, it was still in the satched. It was an unborned baby that came out from her pregnant suit. The ambulance arrived and I told the attendant. They carried both the lady and the unborned baby in the ambulance. The lady was pronounced dead on the spot.
Its was late 80’s now. If I’m not mistaken 1998 or 1999. The road was under construction. I’ve already forget about everything. Same time same place, I was going home using that route. Came to the same spot, there was somebody with a bike waving at me. I was driving that time. I thought somebody’s vehicle breakdown. So I intend to stopped. As I was approaching that spot, I felt uneasy. So I drive slowly towards them, to my shock it was a man and a lady holding a small baby in her arms. The incidents that happened in the mid 80’s straight away came into my mind. Same cloths, same person waving at me. I tell you I swear to god “ITS THEM OK!!!!!ITS REALLY THEM!!!!!ITS REALY THEM!!!!
I got so shock that I could’nt control my steering. I drived as fast as I could without looking behind. The muddy and blood smells was still in my car at that time. A very soft voice I heard something like people crying. I still remember I drove at 120km/h at that time until I was stopped by a T.P. and was issued a summon. Believe it or not, its was my experienced. So do take take care if you drive, ride or cycle along Changi Coastal Road…..
