i used to wear anklets. When I was a crew, I often come back hom at odd timings. It’s daunting to be walking along the corridor in d middle of the night, but I usually make as much noise so that other creepy sounds would be oblivious to me. So d bells on my anklets, the bells on my keys or the dragging of my luggage would always work for me.
