duh… you came back at midnight, of course some of the lights are not working. They are switched off to conserve electricity.. and sometimes, customers complain that corridor lights are too bright and shines into the room via the small gap under the front door.. it is distracting since most of the time, the room will be dark when people are sleeping.. the cleaner might had turned right to park her trolley there. Since it’s a dead end (8-10m deep), she will be sure no one is going to go there.. don’t spook yourself..
