I’m sure most courting couples have been to this extremely famous place, deep in Pasir Ris Park. This story happened to me early last year…
There were 4 of us, me, my fiance (who was then my bf), his brother and a girl who was the brother’s friend. When all 4 finally met up, it was already late evening, around 5. Wanting just a place to hang out, the brother suggested THAT Tower and all 4 of us trudged along…we were nearly there when I didn’t feel quite right and the look on my fiance’s face confirmed it but what the hell, we had other things on our minds 🙂 We climbed up to the top of the tower and I managed to scan the surroundings, the place was unbelievably clean cept for bits of flowers from the trees surrounding that place. Weird, not even one leaf…
As usual, since there were 2 couples, we proceeded to different corners of the Tower. Time passed by, it was getting very dark and the Tower had no light. Suddenly the brother got up and came over asking when we were going to leave. There was a weird look on his face so we all got up to go. The weird thing was, when we flicked our lighters, it wouldn’t light. When my fiance’s lighter finally lit, we could barely make out the next step as we trudged down slowly.
Suddenly, the girl friend who had been quiet all the while said ‘Eh, u all know this place is haunted?’ All of us scolded her for saying such a thing but at the same time, rushed down in the dark, not bothering to flick our lighters anymore. But I felt something was amiss coz she was walking very slowly so I turned. The look on her face was horrible, she had this really sinister look and was glowing in a strange light. Not one to be easily scared, I fell into step with her and started chatting normally. She kept quiet then suddenly asked ‘Have you seen Nang Nak? You know, the way she died?’ At that point I knew what had gotten into her and just muttered something and walked off slowly to join the guys who had rushed way in front. I did turn one last time and she gave me this smile that to this day remain etched in my mind…
That was the last we saw of her after we left her in the park that night, no idea what happened to her. I found out later from my fiance’s brother that the girl was pregnant (her bf is in jail), that’s why she was such an easy prey…
