This incident happened sometime in the year 2002. My friend rented one of the Sentosa colonial bungalow and invited a few of us over for gathering.

We had BBQ followed by majong session until around 1 am in the morning. Everyone return to their rooms and I was packing up with my friend, A. After clearing up, we went up to our rooms. Before going up to level 2, I off the lights at level 1 and quickly went up to my room. My room was directly next to the staircase and A decided to leave the door open while sleeping. When I was about to fall asleep, I was awakened by the staircase lights. So I thought one of my friends went down to get a drink. However, after about 10 minutes, the staircase lights were still on and no one came up from the staircase. I decided to go down to level 1 to switch it off. Again, when I was about to fall asleep, the staircase lights suddenly came on again… This time round, I heard some washing sound and noises from the kitchen area. So I thought it could probably be my friend. Again, after awhile, the lights were still on. I was getting frustrated and I went down to level one and check it out.

I went to the kitchen to see whether anyone was there and also to check whether the back door was locked properly. After checking, I confirm the door was locked. However, I noticed something strange at the basin. I remembered there were dirty plates and bowls in the basin. However, the plates and bowls were not in the basin anymore. They were properly placed on the drying tray. The basin was dry and the plates and bowls were dry too!!! Feeling puzzled, I decided not to think too much and went back up to sleep. Before I went up, I off the lights again.

The next morning, one of my friends who was sleeping in the other room asked why is the staircase lights on the whole night and who washed the dishes!!! Everyone looked puzzled on the cleaned dishes and the lights!!

I thought maybe we had a kind-hearted spirit that night doing house keeping for us!
