Sometime back, I encountered a strange incident at Bukit Batok Nature Park. Not sure if it’s the lady jogger who was raped and murdered, but this took place up on the hill and not lower part of the hill.
I used to be at the car park there at 5am every morning to do some brisk Walk with a group of seniors around 5.10 or 5.15 every morning. Usually before I arrived, there will be this lady who arrive say about 4.45am thereabouts and she does the hola loop. So on this particular day, I forgotten that she had gone away for a few days. Me as usual will walk from home to the park. I jaywalk because there is no traffic at 5am, so I was like so happy to see her and wanting to pace up quickly, the figure just disappear with a blink of an eye.
I don’t know what you call this, but another friend also had this experience. Because we meet every day in the park, so some may share their stories with me.
Next, one morning around 7am++ , right after a group of ladies are done with their routine exercise, 1 of them just about to break into hysterical, saying “look at that woman, she is swinging so high on that swing and her hair was so very long” in Mandarin. We looked at her and said there was no swing at all in playground in front of the toilets. so we knew what happened and comforted her saying maybe she had “huan Xiang” and quickly hush out of the park.
Another time, this is better. Normally me and the seniors will finished our walk by 5.45am to 5.50am and I’d be doing some stretching etc. then I join the group sitting and chatting in the gazebo right in front of the public toilets till about 6.30, the we go have breakfast. So there was this Malay boy, aged about 10 + or so, we didn’t mind his presence, we chatted, and out of curiosity, I asked him what’s he doing at this hour and not at home in bed or getting ready to go bed. He told me that he used to go to the park every morning around 4am or so. I was shock and the best thing he said, ” Aunty, I saw that thing, a lady, very ugly, long hair and like a snake on the ground” On my God, my hair stands on ends instantly !
Oh, before I forget, there was this incident which scare the **** out of me. I was doing my usual morning walk, I think around 5.15 or 5.30 then. There were a handful during that time and as I approach the ‘big circle”, I took for granted that this uncle would walk into a “lonely track”, which my friends and I called, he was behind me and so I continued walking and then halfway realized that no one was behind me! I ran as fas as i could to get out of that heavily forested track. If you were go walk by yourself at 5am, you feel it eerily.
So now, I go to the park a bit later, even then my goosebumps still pop at certain part of the parks. Wanna try at that hour? But sometime, it is the pangolin or some birds there made rustling noise, so …..if you are lucky….
