No.10 - The Apartment
I don't believe in ghost; that was five years ago. But now i do. It was in 1996. I was stationed in Jakarta, Indonesia for two years. I loved the place, the rich cultures & the people. Being young & independent drove me to venture on my own. I had a well paid job, my own personal driver, a maid & a beautiful apartment complete with a swimming pool. What more can a person asked for!
But that was about to change. After two months of living in the apartment, i had a personal visit from the previous owner of ...
No.9 - Holiday or ‘Horrorday’
My friends and I got this great deal for a 4 days 3 nights stay at a resort in Bintan (i don't think i should say which). Anyhow, this resort comprised of villas. Ours was a 3 bedroom villa where the living & dining room and kitchen were downstairs and the bedrooms were upstairs. Basically, as accommodation allowed it, we 5 friends went ready to have a splendid time.
Nothing wierd happened the first 2 nights. However, on the 3rd day, 2 friends decided that they were going back that same evening. Nothing the rest of us could do to ...

As most people have heard Jakarta in Indonesia has numerous places that are haunted and there are also quite a diversity in the type of ghost for eg there are the Kuntilanak, pocong, tuyul, etc. This time i am about to tell the story of yet another type of ghost called the Genderuwo ( aka Hairy ghost ). No.7 - A Indonesian Ceremory
Something I intend to tell after my visit to a small town in Painan, West Sumatra last month. I witnessed a ceremony around Independence Day in August.
They called it traditional dancing which, to be honest, I'm not liable to get excited about having seen enough traditional dances to do me a lifetime. This, however, I felt I should attend as I was helping out in a school at the time so it would be best to be seen taking an interest in the proceedings. It was, after all, a very rarely performed dance!
This episode started off with a ...

No.5 - Orang Bunian
Hey guys have you ever heard of the Bunians? Ok here it goes of a story my late grandfather had told me before when i was a kid. In the early 1970s my grandfather (Mustapha) worked in a large plantation in the island of Sumatra in Indonesia. The plantation was situated south of Lake Toba, and was in hilly terrain.
All the executives' houses were constructed in a straight line on top of a low hill. His house was the second one in the row. In the front of their houses were a few rows of oil palm trees. After this ...
No.4 - Followed By Unseen
I was visiting Medan in 1975 and had been out with my cousin on his scooter one night and while returning home to his place in the wee hours of the morning, we passed by this pitch black area. When I asked him where we were, he told me that this was an old cemetery dating back to 17th century. I did'nt think much about it but when we got back, I headed for the bed feeling really tired.
Then while I was sleeping, I felt something choking me and found myself trying to break free and breathe but ...
No.3 - Pontianak
This happened to me 6 years ago, during a visit to my relatives house in Indonesia, at a nearby island off Batam.
There is 2 more stories happened during the visit to this place, but let me tell you one first..
During that time, there was no TV & no electrical supply, so what we did normally after 8:00pm, was that we will either sit outside the verandah or talk among each other through the window. Since the house I am staying are just next to my friend house, I would normally stand outside the verandah, while both of my friends ...
No.2 - Haunted Hotel Room
This happened to me many years ago when I was working as an airline stewardess. It was my first night stop to Jakarta. You see it was known to all the cabin crew then that the hotel we stayed was haunted.
So when we arrived, we had dinner before we settled in our rooms. As usual, the female crew would end up sharing rooms. I was sharing room with Tina(not real name ) though I barely knew her. We were tucked in bed, just about to fall asleep when the unexpected happened. The lamp shade in the ...
No.1 - Batam Is Haunted
This happened to me when I was on a trip to Batam with my family in the year 1994. As we were only staying for a nite, all of us checked in to a room. Thank goodness, the hotel room was comfy. It was even considered grand compared to what we saw at the immigration. Everything went smoothly during the day. It was only at nite that something happened. My 2 sisters, my mum and myself shared the bed while my father had to bunk on the sofa. Being the 2 eldest among the gals, my mum and ...
